One of the objectives of Rural Ambulance Victoria from the Ambulance Services Act is to “foster public education in first aid”. Ambulance Victoria First Aid (AVFA) was established in 2003 as a joint venture between Rural Ambulance Victoria and Metropolitan Ambulance Service to not only achieve this objective, but to drive first aid participation beyond community expectations.
