Rural Ambulance Victoria (RAV) is responsible for pre-hospital emergency care and transport for the 1.4 million people living and working in rural Victoria. Our paramedics get a career like no other. Your environment offers daily challenges and your community constantly rewards.
Rural Ambulance Victoria (RAV) has been recruiting Graduate Ambulance Paramedics (GAPs) since 2001. We were the first Australian ambulance service to recruit via this pathway with approximately 20% of our workforce now made up of paramedics who have completed our graduate program.
GAP participants progress through a two year intensive professional and personal development program (with potential for early exit points after the first year) while receiving full time paid employment and benefits. The GAP program incorporates a significant clinical component giving each participant experience in treating and caring for patients whilst being guided and supported by a clinical instructor.
Upon completion of the GAP program, participants receive an ‘Authority to Practice’ as a Qualified Ambulance Paramedic with Advance Life Support (ALS) and have opportunities for career advancement into MICA Paramedic, Clinical Education and Management positions.
If you are seeking a paramedic career program that enables you to demonstrate leadership, have the opportunity to commit to longer patient care timeframes, to utilise a wide range of clinical competencies and to enjoy taking a greater role in community engagement, Rural Ambulance Victoria is for you.
